Duncan Barker, Interim Director of Scholarships & International Mobility, ACU
We are delighted to welcome so many scholars in person to this year’s Conference after two years of online delivery for our prestigious annual event.
In addition, we are excited to be working in partnership with SOAS, University of London, our generous host and one of our new Chevening university partners. Thank you to everyone at SOAS for their help in making this Conference happen.
As Chevening Scholars you will be hugely aware of the importance of learning from each other and sharing your ideas across an international network.
The theme of this year’s conference – ‘Building Better: Ideas for a changing world’ – has been chosen to provide a framework in which new ideas can be discussed, nurtured and allowed to blossom into tangible projects that will bring about positive change around the globe.
A key aim of the Chevening Conference is to bring together academics, experts and enquiring minds.
I strongly encourage you to make the most of the day by speaking to your fellow scholars and having a wide range of conversations.
The past couple of years have reinforced how important collaboration, innovation and resilience are in meeting the challenges we all face. I have no doubt that the deep passion and commitment of the Chevening network will enable us to do this.
