What do you need to do?
You do not have to apply separately for a BRP.
However, the way you prove your immigration status from 2025 is changing.
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) is replacing physical documents with an online record of your immigration status.
All new BRPs expire on 31 December 2024. If you have permission to stay in the UK longer, you’ll switch to using an ‘eVisa’ before your BRP expires.
You don't need to worry or do anything. You will be contacted by UKVI with information on how to create a UKVI account and access your e-visa.
If you have any questions, please contact your university’s international student advice team.
